Alan Dorfman was a prominent American businessman and labor consultant who was associated with organized crime activities. He was best known for his connections to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and his involvement in various illegal schemes, including embezzlement, bribery, and racketeering.
Dorfman started his career as a labor consultant and quickly rose to prominence within the Teamsters union, ultimately becoming one of its key figures. He was accused of using his position to embezzle millions of dollars from union pension funds and to engage in various corrupt activities.
Dorfman's criminal activities eventually caught up with him, and he was indicted on multiple charges in the early 1980s. In 1983, he was found guilty of fraud and conspiracy and sentenced to 55 years in federal prison. However, his sentence was later reduced to 20 years, and he was released on parole in 1992.
Dorfman was assassinated in 1983, just months after his conviction. His murder remains unsolved, but it is widely believed to be linked to his criminal activities and connections to organized crime.
